Dans le quartier de la Mosson, une reconversion a été menée il y a quelques années : plusieurs travaux ont été entrepris et de nombreux nouveaux logements construits. Parmi eux se trouvent les Résidences U, un ensemble de logements intermédiaires qui se cache dans un jardin commun se mêlant à la végétation de la rivière de la Mosson.
Les habitants ont l'opportunité d'y vivre sous des toits en voûtains de pierre — et ceux du deuxième niveau, sous une grande voûte — des espaces hors du commun qui apportent différents avantages aux logements : inertie thermique, acoustique et une identité spatiale forte, rare dans le logement collectif contemporain.
In the Mosson district, a reconversion took place a few years ago: several works were carried out and many new housing units built. Among them are the Résidences U, an intermediate housing complex hidden in a common garden that blends with the vegetation of the Mosson river.
Residents have the opportunity to live under stone vaulted roofs — those on the second level under a large vault — unusual spaces that bring different advantages to the homes: thermal and acoustic inertia, and a strong spatial identity rarely found in contemporary collective housing.
